POETRY

The DMV, Ogontz Ave

Big lashes,
Scalloped edges,
Chick in front,
She storming out.
Soft Chink
At the desk,
Don’t like
Her paperwork.
He used to taking shit.

City Hall on the wall,
Plastic shrub dusty shrug
To old dirt, sharp light, drab room.
Girl in the bonnet like a mushroom.

The dame beside us,
Her ass so humongous
It dances.

TV smiling from the ceiling.
Popsicles, matcha or chai?
Dauphin County hiring bus drivers.

Skinny boy’s up next,
Hoop tall,
Beautiful,
Hair half black, half rust.

White dude at the desk,
Bald top, shaved sides, greasy tail, stubble.
He so enormous
He shape like a rhombus.
He does his job good though.

Lord, you see us all,
You see us all.

There’s a dark dame.
Espadrilles and linen,
Handbag and bob cut.

Up comes a crank in camo,
Hollering happy,
“To God be the glory!
To God be the glory!”
