My name is Joseph Makarian, and I would like to share what I experienced eighteen years ago.
In 2004, I had colon cancer that spread through the bloodstream to my liver. Metastases were demonstrated on an MRI and CAT scan; I had secondary liver cancer. This type of cancer is very aggressive and cannot be cured. The doctors gave me sixteen months to live.
In January of the following year, I was registered for treatment at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I was selected for a clinical trial and gave my whole body to cancer research. Everyone knows it’s good to listen to the doctor and to be positive.
During this process, as I was getting a blue chemical injected into my body, I was lying on the hospital bed and I started seeing a human face on the ceiling.
The figure told me, “I need you.”
I weakly answered him, “The doctors told me I only had sixteen months to live, maybe a little longer.”
I didn’t know who the figure was— I wouldn’t find out for five more years.
The image on the ceiling told me, “Think back to the time when you didn’t have cancer!”
I had nothing to lose at the time. I was 58 years old; middle aged. So I thought back to the time I was 29 years old.
My family doctor had told me the cancer was stage 4. In two months the CAT scan and MRI showed no signs of cancer. The doctors didn’t believe it. I was sent to the University where they took a liver sample. It was sent to the lab and the result was negative. There were 900 patients in that clinical trial in Canada at the time and I was the only survivor; this is something I can’t understand.
Then, five years post-remission, something interesting happened in my garage. It was August 2010, and the incident was published in the Edmonton SUN.

On the wooden wall, the same image as in the Cross Cancer Institute reappeared.
I didn’t know what it meant.
One day my friend came over and told me what he thought about it. He goes to church regularly and he told me this face looked like Jesus Christ. I started to understand the connection, but I didn’t understand why Jesus appeared to me when I didn’t go to church. I invited the priest from Millwoods and asked him. He told me that Jesus chooses ordinary people and that I didn’t need to go to church.
I now firmly believe that Jesus can heal people because He healed me of incurable cancer.
One day when I was sitting and looking into His eyes, He told me to put a cross on the roof above His head. I don’t know why He asked me this, perhaps because He needed to communicate with His Father.

Another miracle happened in June 2020.
I told him “Jesus, if you need me, give me a child and I will be with you for a long time. My wife has a health problem and cannot give birth to a child.”
A miracle happened and the next month: my wife became pregnant.
My Sophia was born on March 11th, 2021; blessed by Jesus.
On April 4, 2021, at not even a month old, she had her hands clasped in prayer. I documented the image, thinking, “Maybe this is another miracle.”

I am currently 77 years old, and my daughter Sophia is 24 months old.
I firmly believe that Jesus Christ can heal people and that he gave me advice on how to destroy cancer. I would like to help people with cancer with the knowledge I have gained.
Cancer is not the end of life, and it must be fought.
